LET THE GAMES BEGIN
Sat 2 – Tue 30 June
Let the Games Begin is a Watershed season, part of RELAYS, a programme of linked cultural and sporting opportunities across the South West which marks one of the regional contributions to the forthcoming 2012 Olympiad in London. Waveriders is delighted to be part of this season. Let the Games Begin invites everyone to reflect on sport’s cultural and social significance. Initially, sport and culture might not seem the most obvious of companions. The classic division is ‘arty’ types go see art whilst ‘sporty’ types do sport, but it is our intention to challenge these assumptions and explore the richness created when these two worlds do come together. This season of films, talks and games celebrates the creativity inherent in play, and the playfulness inherent in creativity.
